GET LOST, SUMMER!
Slowly but surely, I’m finishing up with my cool summery treats and finding myself making more apple recipes. Pies, bars, cakes, cookies…you name it, I’m putting apples in it and baking it. Apples go so well with caramel. I mean, caramel apples, right? Honestly, much as I love the flavor combination of apples with caramel, I can’t stand caramel apples. They’re sticky and messy and it’s usually way too much for me to eat a whole one. How do you save it for later? Oh sure. I could share it but every time I try to suggest that when caramel apples are about, I’m met with that, “You must be nuts” face that my husband and kids love to give me. Until they can’t finish theirs either.
It’s like those giant turkey legs at Disney World. My husband insisted on ordering 2 of them despite my pleas that one was plenty. Needless to say he wound up having to eat the remainder of both legs. Anyway, apples also go great with butterscotch, which is like caramel’s cousin. These cookies will give you all that sweet glorious butterscotch taste coupled with apples in the softest cookie setting ever. You’ll love these, perfect for the first school bake sale of the year! Let’s go to the next page (click the Next button below) to discover how to make these Butterscotch Apple Pudding Cookies.
