EXERCISE YOUR DECADENCE!
I’m not going to lie. This one is a wee bit complex. If you’re just starting out baking it might be intimidating. But this is not impossible. Oh no. Just take each step one at a time. Organize your ingredients and have them ready and it will be so much easier. There is a lot going on here. First you’re going to make the actual cake layers. The cake batter isn’t that complicated. In fact, that’s probably the easiest part of this. The cheesecake is where it gets complicated.
The recipe originates from the KitchenAid website so in the instructions, it says to turn the oven to Steam Bake. Now, if you’re like me you can only dream of such an oven. So you’ll need to make your own steam bath for your cheesecake. Wrap the bottom of your pan REALLY well with foil so the water can’t seep into your springform pan or you will have a soggy, sad cheesecake layer. You’ll also need to follow the directions for refrigerating it, preferably overnight. The frosting and the raspberry sauce are the easiest parts to this recipe. You can make things even easier if you use a pre-made raspberry sauce. This one will knock your socks off. It’s gorgeous and worth the challenge.
I found this chocolatey recipe on the Baking A Moment blog. Click the link below to see the blog and full recipe for this Brooklyn Blackout Cheesecake.
