IT’S LIKE DYING AND GOING TO CHOCOLATE HEAVEN!
I’ve never been to South Carolina, but I have a friend from Greenville who upon hearing I’d found this recipe nearly deafened me with her shrieks of delight on our recent phone conversation. Once I could hear again, I began to find out more about this charming café. And even more about its famous chocolate cake. “You HAVE to make it!” she shouted at me. “Go make it now! And then call me and tell me what you think. It’s THE best chocolate cake EVER!”
Ok, I’ll be honest. Chocolate cakes are one of my favorite kinds of cakes out there. And I’ve had some darned good ones too. So telling me a cake is the best of the best, well, it’s like a triple dog dare…I’ve GOT TO make it. And make it I did. As a lifelong chocoholic, I must tell you that this is no joke. This is one of the best chocolate cakes I’ve ever tasted, and believe me, I have tasted A LOT of them. It’s made in a tube pan and you fill that center hole up with ganache too and it’s just overflowing with chocolaty goodness. Throw a party just so you can make this.
