THERE’S A NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN!
One day, I woke up and it seemed like red velvet was everywhere. If only it had been around when Forrest Gump was made, I wonder if Bubba’s family would have been experts on red velvet recipes instead of shrimp. There’s red velvet cake pops, red velvet cupcakes, red velvet cookies, red velvet pudding…shall I go on? It’s funny because it’s not that new of a concept. The red part is, relatively, but the velvet part has been happening since the 1800s.
And now, everything’s coming up red velvet, isn’t it? It’s good stuff. Velvet cakes have that soft, finer texture to them. And the traditional cream cheese frosting is the ultimate compliment. Red velvet cake is only red because of food dye though. So would a velvet cake in any other color be as sweet? Methinks yes. Actually, me knows yes, it absolutely does. But seeing is believing. Or rather, tasting, in this case. Let’s go to the next page (click the Next button below) to find out what’s better than red velvet cake!
