BACK IN BLACK!
A little while ago, I talked about a black velvet cake. It was really pretty. Like that one girl you became friends with in high school despite you totally hating her because she was so stunning. You figured she had to be a total witch and she was the nicest person ever. Looks can be deceiving indeed. This particular black velvet cake looks nice too but not in the same regal way. It’s more of a down-home kind of way. A way that makes you feel welcome to come over any time to join the family for dinner but you’d never dare show up in ripped up jeans and a plain t-shirt. Oh no. You’d make sure you were preened and your manners were prim and perfect.
Velvet cakes are definitely amazing for their texture and this one here is no exception. It’s a dark chocolaty cake with a dark chocolaty ganache on top. Shaved chocolate accentuates it and makes it stand apart from other bundt-style cakes. If you want to impress in a casual, popped-up-collar-on-your-polo-shirt kind of way, let this one be your claim to cool. Let’s go to the next page (click the Next button below) to discover how to make this Black Velvet Cake with Dark Chocolate Ganache.
