COMPLEX TASTE. SIMPLE METHODS!
Now the black bottom part of these squares is a brownie, which you probably already guessed. The recipe makes it from scratch. I tried it out and it’s a great moist, rich and dense chocolate brownie recipe. You have several options here. You can make this as the recipe instructs, you can sub in your own favorite brownie recipe or you can use a box mix. Regardless of which you use, pay attention to the time you bake it for. You don’t want to over-bake the brownies. You’ll need to take them out after about 15 minutes of baking and let them cool while you get the coconut stuff ready.
The coconut topping is easy to get together. Make sure you set aside some coconut though so you can sprinkle it on top after you spread the coconut mixture on top of the brownie layer. Bake again until done and then enjoy this decadent treat. Trish loved these so I sent her home with them and as long as she doesn’t change her mind about what she wants, she’ll probably be getting another batch of these to come home to after she has the baby.
I found this divine recipe on the View From Great Island blog. Click the link below to see the blog and full recipe for these Black Bottom Coconut Squares.
