LET THERE BE CAKE!
I find it very interesting that this cake only requires 7 ingredients to make it. Is it a divine sign? I think so. And you should have all these things in your pantry right now. You’ll only be using egg whites for this. The recipe calls for about 9 of them at room temperature. Save those egg yolks for something else. The possibilities are endless. How about a hollandaise sauce? Not for the cake of course! Duh! Anyway, you’ll find a use for them.
The batter’s a snap to get together. Before you preheat your oven, move that oven rack to the lowest position. I tell you this now so you don’t have to attempt to move a hot rack with your potholders. I hate hate HATE when I do that. Gah! The recipe calls for a tube pan but in the absence of that, you can use a bundt pan. Once you pour the batter, use a knife to cut through the batter to get rid of any air pockets.
It’s done when it is light brown on top and appears dry. Flip the pan over immediately and allow it to cool for about an hour before you use a knife along the edges of the pan to remove it. Serve with fresh fruits like berries. You can also serve with whipped cream for an extra touch of heaven!
