STRAIGHT FROM HEAVEN!
As a little girl, I often struggled with the difference between angel food cake and devil’s food cake. Why did chocolate have to be the devil’s cake? That’s what I remember asking my mom while she was baking one day. She laughed and laughed and then promptly yelled at my big brother for filling my head with things. One of those things was that the angel food cake was made with ground up angels. Yes, he seriously told me this. So I didn’t want to eat it because I didn’t want to be a part of harming angels, and that would leave more cake for him. Mom got after him for that one too.
Thankfully, Mom was able to convince me that no angels were harmed in the making of her angel food cake and that I would not be condemned to burn in the pits of hellfire for all eternity whenever I ate devil’s food cake.
