ONLY 5 EASY INGREDIENTS!
So not only are these brownies some of the best I’ve ever had, but they are so easy too. You’d never guess that this amazing dessert was made with a box mix and 4 other ingredients either. For the caramels, you’ll need a good 50 or 60 of them to make the caramel layer. Plan ahead so you have them unwrapped. You don’t want to be fumbling around when it’s time to bake. A word to the wise though…those caramels are so yummy so buy extra. Probably another extra bag, honestly, especially if your kids want to help you unwrap them because they WILL creep a bunch of them too, I guarantee it. Alternatively, you can use jarred caramel sauce.
You’ll use a box of German chocolate cake mix for this and instead of following the box, you’ll do as the recipe says and mix it by hand with 2/3 cup of the evaporated milk and your butter. Bake only a small portion of it for 8 minutes before taking it out of the oven. You’ll sprinkle chocolate chips evenly on top of it and drizzle the caramel on top of that. Then you’ll drop blobs of the remaining batter on top of that. Don’t worry if it doesn’t cover all the caramel. Finish the baking and try to busy yourself until these things cool so you can truly enjoy them…in your basement, laundry room, or any other place you can hole up and get your fix.
