ONLY 5 INGREDIENTS!
If the allure of 5 simple ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen didn’t make you click here then surely the promise of quick, easy and cheap hand-held apple pie deliciousness did. But wait! If you don’t want apple, don’t go! Because you can absolutely fill these up with a ton of different other things. I’ll get to that in a sec. First off, you’ll need to cut the crusts off your bread and roll it nice and thin. The recipe calls for white bread. I’m sorry, but I do not ever buy that stuff. I only buy stuff that’s free of high fructose corn syrup. Usually, I buy whole wheat but the potato bread is really good too and free of the yuckies. It works wonderfully for this too.
Next, you’ll find a filling you like. Now, you can make your own which tastes best of course or you can use the canned stuff. You can also opt to use different fruit fillings from blueberry to cherry to peach. AND! You can even fill it with a sugary cream cheese filling too. Endless possibilities here, folks. With the fruits though, make sure you cut the pieces down a little before rolling it into your bread. Dip in butter, roll in cinnamon and sugar and bake until crispy. Also, serving with ice cream takes these over the top!
