LIFE IS BETTER WITH CINNAMON AND SUGAR ON IT!
And so are tacos! This recipe differs from the other apple pie taco recipe I posted a review about. It’s a little more complicated but not so much so that it will stop you. If you want a completely easy-peasy one though, the other recipe is the way to go. This one requires some cutting and measuring to make your taco shells. Once you get that right, you’ll fry them up in oil and then coat them with cinnamon and sugar. Then it’s on to the filling.
Now with the filling, you can use the canned stuff if you wish, or you can follow the simple recipe provided. I went with the recipe because fresh is always better than canned. Besides, we have so many apples around right now I couldn’t bear to do a canned version. It takes no time at all to make your own filling and to me, it just tastes better. But if you’re in a hurry or have no apples, canned is fine. Then you’ll spoon some of the apple filling into your taco shells. And you’ll serve them with frozen whipped topping or vanilla ice cream. We had vanilla ice cream with ours and fresh whipped cream. I also drizzled jarred caramel sauce on ours. They were incredible. If you want to make your own caramel sauce, there’s a link for that in the recipe.
I found this irresistible recipe on the Spend With Pennies blog. Click the link below to see the blog and full recipe for these Apple Pie Tacos.
