IT ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE ONE GIANT DONUT!
Not long ago, a friend of mine told me about a new donut shop in town. I love donuts, much like any American does. I’ve been trying to stay away though because I can easily eat a dozen of them like it’s no big thing. Say, do they have a donut-eating competition? I should totally enter. I’d win, easy. Anyway, there’s a Dunkin’ Donuts nearby too, but those are easy to resist. They just don’t taste fresh and delicious like Krispy Kreme does right off the line. And this little Mom and Pop donut shop my friend recommended sounded like it was worth splurging calories on.
It was heaven. Absolute donut heaven. They had this chocolate and cream cheese donut that was so good I cried. And they had an apple donut with a cake consistency. It sounded so simple but the gal behind the counter told me I shouldn’t underestimate such a simple-sounding donut. She said it was one of the most popular ones. I decided to take her advice and got one of those too. Later at home, with my coffee and my box of donuts, I daintily cut a little out of each donut so I could taste each flavor. The gal at the shop wasn’t kidding. That apple cake donut was amazing. This recipe for apple donut cake makes me think it’s the mother of that donut. Let’s go to the next page (click the Next button below) to discover how to make this Apple Donut Cake.
