AND BEST OF ALL, MAKE IT FAST!
Get your electric mixer ready for some work. It’s the best friend you could ever have in your kitchen. Flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, milk, eggs, and vanilla go in. Be sure you’ve got them combined well. Then SLOWLY stir in your melted butter. Once it’s all mixed together, pour that batter into your greased baking pan. Then you’ll get a large bowl and mix 2 sticks of softened butter, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nuts. Plop it evenly over cake batter by the spoonful. To get that gorgeous cinnamon swirl going, use a knife and whirl it through the batter.
While baking, mix up your icing. When the cake is done, drizzle the icing over the top while the cake is still warm. And while you can totally serve this at room temperature, I gotta tell you that nothing beats it while it is warm and fresh from the oven. You’ll see!
